We are sorry to have to tell you that The Victoria Police presentation on Intervention Orders scheduled for this weekend is not able to occur
due to the presenter becoming unavailable. They assure us that this presentation will occur next year sometime and they WILL be presenting at Ferntree Gully on
Saturday 23rd August.
The good news is that we were able to secure an organisation who have been wanting to present to our members for several months – Alcoholics Anonymous.
We will have two speakers for the CBD meeting on Saturday 9th August.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a community-based option where many alcoholics have found help to achieve sobriety and alleviate the problems arising from alcohol.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no fees for AA membership or service.
AA confines itself to helping alcoholics and is based on one member helping another. Our members are not professionals.
Two members who have achieved sobriety through the program of Alcoholics Anonymous will share their experience and what AA is and how it works.
