Supporting individuals with disabilities and their families is my passion. I have over 12 years’ experience in the disability sector and believe that a person centred approach to counselling is central to positive outcomes for individuals. In order to do this I utilise different approaches tailored to best support individuals in their journey towards a life full of purpose and meaning. My aim is to empower individuals so that they can flourish and grow. Clients learn the skills they need to meet challenges and have a “road map” of how to navigate those challenges. Learning along the journey how to set goals and strive towards them. Through counselling, coaching and community linking all individuals can realise their goals and determine the steps they need to take to successfully attain them.
Finding solutions together is my goal. Forming a trusting working relationship where you feel comfortable to work through your issues. My experience has been in many areas including relationships, couples, stress management, anxiety, self esteem, loss & grief and personal issues. I am the President of the Counsellors Victoria, a Clinical (Level 4) member of the Australian Counselling Association and a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
We all experience times in our lives where we feel confused, sad or frustrated. Circumstances arise giving us a sense that we are out of control; don’t know what to do, how to do it or where to turn to. Well meaning friends and family try to assist by giving advice and support, but often this can be subjective and emotionally charged. We tip the scales the other way, helping you discover your own path to resolving inner turmoil, acknowledging loss and moving to acceptance, identifying coping and problem-solving techniques, self understanding and acceptance.
