I am Patricia Hardy, a counsellor specialising in Loss and Grief. Loss leads to Grief, they are inseparable companions. The more loss you have in your life the more you become immune to grief; suppressing your emotions and often suffering illness. I have had many years of experience as a counsellor in private practice and have upgraded my qualifications to become a Professional Supervisor with the ACA College of Supervisors. I work privately with adult individuals that are experiencing difficulties in their personal, work and married life and require some assistance to get back on track. I work with couples in Relationship Counselling, who may be experiencing some difficulties and need to reconnect. My extensive teaching experience and work in schools enables me to specialise my work with pre-teens and teenagers and the problems that they encounter everyday. I have strong family values and work towards goals that are achievable for both the young person and adults in their lives. I work with students who have personal issues that get in the way of their personal development, others may be disengaged from education and need to find a way to re-engage them with school and their family. My preferred therapeutic models and ones that I have success in are cognitive behavior therapy, person centered and mindfulness

Supporting individuals with disabilities and their families is my passion. I have over 12 years’ experience in the disability sector and believe that a person centred approach to counselling is central to positive outcomes for individuals. In order to do this I utilise different approaches tailored to best support individuals in their journey towards a life full of purpose and meaning. My aim is to empower individuals so that they can flourish and grow. Clients learn the skills they need to meet challenges and have a “road map” of how to navigate those challenges. Learning along the journey how to set goals and strive towards them. Through counselling, coaching and community linking all individuals can realise their goals and determine the steps they need to take to successfully attain them.
