Membership to Counsellors Victoria (CV)
Membership to Counsellors Victoria (CV) consists of two levels: Full Member and Student Members. Members must hold or be studying a Diploma or Higher in Counselling related studies.
Members are urged to be following an industry Code of Ethics or organisational policies and procedures to guide their work.
Monthly Meetings
Below you will find the Counsellors Victoria Inc meeting calendar with the meetings dates for 2024.
Meetings will be held online via Zoom, with short networking opportunities following the presentations.
Members will be contacted via email regarding meeting presentation topics for the meeting calendar dates.
CV Updates
Counsellors Victoria has recently undergone changes which include separating from the Australian Counselling Association as their Victorian Member Association.
Counsellors Victoria is now a professional development and networking provider for those with a diploma and higher in counselling related studies and those who are studying one of these courses.
We encourage our members to be following an industry Code of Ethics or organizational policies and procedures.
Membership gives access to the 10 professional development presentations each year and networking events held.
Members may be from all over Australia, not just Victoria.

Please note that our presentations are not recorded to protect and respect the intellectual property of our presenters. Our professional development is a live attended event on the 2nd Saturday of the month – February to November.

CV Presents:
Music Therapy and the brain: How we can use its power to benefit
ourselves and our clients.
The Presenter
Maria has been working in education as a specialist music teacher for thirty years after completing her Bachelor of Secondary Music Education degree at the University of Melbourne. She has held numerous roles as Head of Music in various metropolitan and regional schools and has developed curriculum and programs both in education and in the community that engages all age groups and backgrounds.
Maria recently completed work with Dr Anita Collins, Australia’s leader in music education and neuroscience research and has become a Bigger Better Brains Facilitator, advocating for music education for all children across the country.
Her passion is to continue to make sure that all young people are given the opportunity to experience the lifetime benefits from learning music.
Maria Russell will discuss her experience on this topic followed by a Q & A and the option to network with others in industry, in small groups, following the presentation.
This is a 90-minute presentation relevant to the Counselling Healthcare industries, complete with assessment component.
A ‘Certificate of Attendance with online assessment’ is issued to all participants.

To apply for membership to this Association, you must be an Australian resident, hold a minimum of Diploma in Counselling related studies or be studying one of these courses.
